Low Cost, No Cost Fun in Vermont

Where has the time gone? It has been spent finishing up homeschooling Lil and filling our summer days with low cost, no cost fun. We have been to some great places such as the Path of Life in Windsor VT (bold words in this post are clickable links that will open in a new tab). We went and saw Jurassic World, which me not being a huge fan of the Jurassic Park series I was pleased with the movie! We had a semi okay camping experience with our new tent (which the screened in area has no floor which means no bug protection), which left us with a lot of bug bites and a really cold camping experience. But we love to camp, so camp on we will. Lil did an aquatic investigations week long camp up at the Montshire Museum where we are members. She had a great time, the only downfall was me driving roughly 4 hours to get here there and back each day, but the chatter out of her mouth on all the days adventures was worth it! If you haven’t been to the Montshire its a great Museum with so many things to do, inside and out, including tons of walking and hiking paths.

We have gone to the New London NH Bog, which changes every time we visit. If you haven’t been to a true bog, this is definitely a place to visit. It is so much fun! We even pulled out a stick that was in a small pool next to the planks we were walking on and it was buried 10 feet deep! We’ve made some trips to the ocean, some local hiking trails, playdates, and just some local walks.

That’s just a big of what we have been up to. We like to take daily drives and find where the car takes us. we have found waterfalls we didn’t know existed, explored different plant life (especially edible plants as Lil has a love of finding edible plants), and “secret” roads we never knew existed.

What does the rest of the summer have in store? The Rock of Ages granite quarry, Charmingfare Farm, and some more trips to the ocean.

What are your summer plans?
