The blurb for this was a bit vague, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But once I started reading, I got right into it. Gemma is young but strong, if not a little mistrusting. Having an important man come into her life after all these years is a surprise she stopped realizing she needed.
So when she gets the opportunity to get to know him, it works out well. Especially because she has eyes for Weston, his roommate. Their relationship started off sweet and evolved rather quickly. Weston is great for Emma.
Sawyer did a great job of laying the framework for all of the characters and the setting. There was a good layer of action added into the mix. Splintered Courage is a quick read, one that will have readers anxious to read on to find out what happens next.
