Christmas Wish, Amanda Siegrist

Emma is on her last leg, she’s out of money and has no place to go. She decides to find Elliot, a man she used to consider an adoptive Uncle. While she hasn’t seen him in years, she’s desperate. While she has no plans to stay in town, he has other plans. Between him and his wife Lynn, they know there’s more going on than what Emma leads on.

Enter Bentley, the sexy fireman who Emma cannot stand, he’s cocky and he’s pining for a woman that won’t have him. While Emma is trying her hardest to stay away from him, he just keeps popping up where she is, loving the feistiness that is signature Emma.

Emma was really hard to like at first because her walls were just so high up, so thick, that her stubbornness, her amount of loathing was just too much. We have walls up for a reason, and Bentley is intent on breaking them down. Because it would be all too easy for Emma to run, to leave town and the people that care for her, but she doesn’t see it, she doesn’t want to, her self-esteem and repeated let downs stand in the way.

This is the only series I haven’t read of Siegrist, and while it is completely a standalone novel, I do want to go back and read the first two books, because I loved Lynn and I want to meet her from the beginning. I adore this little community that pulls together when people need it. I liked the easy banter that flows in the dialogue and I like Bentley’s drive to get Emma to break down her walls. Christmas Wish is the perfect feel-good, HEA Holiday read just in time for Christmas.

For now you can read my review on Goodreads as Christmas Wish isn’t out yet. But alas, it releases December 1st and is available for pre-order on Amazon for 99 cents.
