Due to some family matters, I took some time off this past weekend and week, but I’m ready to get back into reading. I’ve got a great variety of genres for the books so let’s take a look at what I’ve got coming up!
Just a note, I do *not* use affiliate links. These are clean Amazon links that will take you to the purchase pages. Happy Reading!
The Virtue of Sin by Shannon Schuren- This is an advanced readers copy as this doesn’t release until June 25th, and it’s in paperback, which is great! The blurb compared it to The Handmaid’s Tale and that’s what drew me in. While I’m only a few chapters in, it feels more cult like than dystopian. You can preorder it on Amazon for $10.99.
To Dream is to Die by Sarah Lampkin- The cover is what drew me to the book and then once I got to the blurb, I knew this was one I wanted to read. This one I started last night and I got immediately sucked in. Three years ago, Brenna died, but because she lives, there are repercussions. While she sleeps, her spirit enters what she calls The Fade. While she feels invisible to the creatures that live in The Fade, she’s not invisible to other humans that can see her. You can purchase To Dream is to Die on Amazon for $4.99.
The Deceivers by Kristen Simmons. This is a newly released YA book that follows Brynn. A girl that has had to learn to do what she needs to, to get by. Finding herself enrolled in the prestigious school, Vale Hall, it’s her chance to get away from her mom’s boyfriend. But this isn’t your ordinary school. I had started this one last weekend, and then I had to put it on the back-burner while I was taking care of life. But I am insanely excited to get back to this. You can purchase it on Amazon for $9.99.
The Starlight Claim by Tim Wynne-Jones. This is an advanced readers copy, and I haven’t gotten a chance to start this one. It’s labelled as YA, but a teenager stuck out in blizzard conditions in the middle of nowhere? Sign me up for some intense stress of not knowing if he’s going to make it. This one isn’t going to release until September, so you could say it’s a very, very early ARC. It is available for preorder on Amazon for $17.09.
Devoted by Emery Skye. This story follows Anna, who attends Hope Academy. The mission of Hope Academy is to protect the world from the demonic plague. This is the first book in the start of a series, and I’m looking forward to reading this and seeing how Anna and her sister navigate this world. It’s available on Amazon for 99 cents and is enrolled in KU.
Wandering in Wonderland by Aislinn Honeycutt. I only found Alice in Wonderland a handful of years ago, and I became instantly obsessed. So when I saw a new author was going to take on this fantastic tale (and in a series no less), I jumped at the chance to review. The blurb says “Familiar faces take on new roles in this fantasy retelling with a dark and romantic LGBT twist This isn’t the Wonderland you’ve experienced before…” So this sounds sinfully fun! You can preorder Wandering in Wonderland for $3.99 on Amazon, it releases June 4th.
So that is my tentative TBR. There are so many authors I hadn’t heard of, and I’m looking forward to some new books and some new authors to follow. What are you reading?
