Normally I won’t rate a book that ends on a cliffhanger without a warning in the blurb as 5 stars, but this was such a fun read that was hard to put down, I couldn’t rate it otherwise.
People are having the same dream, the world is coming to an end and soon. While out grabbing food, Rain gets rescued and then kidnapped by Wes. But it’s not as horrible as she expected, especially because once he’s done with her, he doesn’t mind her hanging around. That and she doesn’t really have another place to go.
What follows is a dystopian romance infused with laugh out loud humor. With such things written as “The waiting around to die thing is killing me.” you can’t help but laugh out loud at Rain’s antics. She exhibits signs of PTSD, but it would be way too soon for that kind of diagnosis. And despite her special brand of weird, she is so much stronger than she realizes.
I liked Wes, even if his own past had him building up walls that were hard to break down. I like the two of them together and the scenes between them are *hot*. This was such a fun read that once I started, I didn’t want to stop. I hadn’t read Easton before this book, but she’s definitely got a new fan.
You can read my review on Amazon, Goodreads, and Bookbub, give it a “like” while you’re there. You can grab Praying for Rain on Amazon for $3.99, it’s enrolled in KU.
