I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway from Berkley Publishing, and I’m so glad I started it right off, I am definitely a new fan.
Mia has been desperate to have a child with her husband Harrison, spending their savings on IVF. But when she meets the man, Oliver, who she has dreamed about for years, her dreams of a child are put on the backburner as she tries to discover this intense connection to the man that has haunted her dreams for years. For he too, has dreamed of her. What could it all mean and why are they dreaming of each other?
Mia’s husband is amazing. He’s incredibly patient because let’s face it, Mia grows obsessed with Oliver, she’s doing everything she can to spend time with him and to figure out how they are connected. Harrison is also dealing with a painful loss of a young patient, and while he is going through his own thing, he’s trying to be supportive of Mia. I love the connection Mia and Harrison share because no matter how far it seems she would stray for Oliver, it’s her love for Harrison that keeps reining her in.
I know a lot of people hated the ending, I didn’t. It was bittersweet, it was a hard pill to swallow, but I think, it ended what was already a beautiful book on a beautiful note. The book stayed with me for days because it’s powerful. That level of connection we have to seemingly random strangers, Oakley explores that in this book, but she always ties it back to the connection that Mia and Harrison share. Wonderful characters with an engaging storyline, from beginning to end, I’m in love. There were tears, so many tears, but they were good tears. This was so very well done, I loved it.
