We left book 1 with James choosing Maggie before he sets off on another tour of duty. Sarah tries to move on, she meets Garrett, and things are going well for a while. But James is always on her mind, the love she has for him is nothing she has ever experienced, and she’s sure she never will. Sarah has suffered so much pain in such a short time. Emotionally things aren’t great, but there’s so much good in her life right now that she can draw on the strength from the positive to carry her through the heartache, but it certainly isn’t easy.
What an emotional rollercoaster! My heart broke over and over for Sarah and the hurt that kept being heaped upon her. She doesn’t ask for much, she wants honesty, and in that, I think we can all relate. She’s excellent at communicating her wants and needs, and yet they don’t get returned. I didn’t want to put this down because I am so invested in Sarah and James’ happiness. I cannot wait to see what is in store for everyone in this series! Such a great read.
