My Thoughts

Hannah’s been in a world where she suspects she’s the only one living. She’s come across neither human nor animal; even the squirrels and birds are gone. She spends her days practicing ballet and hiding from the silence outside. When she finally ventures out of her home, she runs into Leo, a boy she’s seen around school. With dreams of making it big in music, Hannah’s presence surprises Leo as he also thought he was the last one living. While they have a lot of theories about what is going on, they aren’t entirely sure. We follow them on their adventures in this new world.

At first, Hannah was a hard person to like, but that’s just because we have such opposing personalities. She was too rigid with very little imagination. That’s why running into Leo is perfect. He helps bring out the lighter side of life for her. It was then that I started to really like and relate to her. I loved the fun they have together, the perspectives they each bring to the varying situations.

I highlighted so many things while reading that resonated with me or just left me with a really good feeling. With a fun, dystopian-esque premise, this book ticks a lot of boxes, easily fluctuating between light and fun, to emotional and feel-good moments; a super fun read.
