About the Book:

“We’re worth fighting for. A life full of love will always be worth it.”

Dax Armaud has spent the last decade haunted by feelings for the one woman he can never have. Family secrets mean just being seen with a Mori is a dangerous dance let alone dating one. But a desperate call sends him spinning back into Jada’s life, and now he can’t walk away without leaving half his soul behind.

For years, Jada Mori fought the ties to her father’s world while healing a broken heart. She thought she’d finally escaped both until a shadow creeps out of her past seeking retribution. When Dax shows up trying to protect her, she’s determined to send him away before her mistakes destroy them.

Forced into hiding, the tantalizing desire hovering between them refuses to be ignored, and in the end, they’ll have to decide what matters most―family allegiances or a chance at a forever after.

Inspired by Imelda May’s “Falling in Love with You Again,” comes an emotional, friends-to-lovers romance with deep, relatable characters and a story you might never forget.

My Thoughts

Crossed by the Stars is a multi-layered, well-thought-out, and incredibly smart romantic suspense. I love Jada. Her tough exterior and thick walls instantly drew me in. It breaks my heart that she feels like she’s just one woman against the world. I love Dax, who, despite past mistakes, is a force to be reckoned with. They have run parallel worlds for years, so it makes sense for things to come to a head. With a complex storyline and rich characters, this story is a perfect thriller romance mashup. It leaves you breathless with all the feels long after the book is closed.

About the Author

Award winning author, LJ Evans, lives in the California Central Valley with her husband, child, and the terrors called cats. She’s been writing, almost as a compulsion, since she was a little girl and will often pull the car over to write when a song lyric strikes her. A former first grade teacher, she now spends her days reading and writing, as well as binge-watching original shows like The Crown, A Discovery of Witches, Veronica Mars, and Stranger Things.

If you ask her the one thing she won’t do, it’s pretty much anything that involves dirt—sports, gardening, or otherwise. But she loves to write about all of those things, and her first published heroine was pretty much involved with dirt on a daily basis, which is exactly why LJ loves fiction novels—the characters can be everything you’re not and still make their way into your heart.

Her debut novel, MY LIFE AS A COUNTRY ALBUM, was the Independent Author Network’s 2017 YA Book of the Year, and the debut series has won multiple awards including Romance Audiobook of the Year in the Indie Audiobook Awards.
