On another trip to the Below, Delaney must sort out the mess that has arisen. But things are different, and tensions are high. She might lose who she is in the process, but she needs to end things once and for all.
The third book in the Murphy’s Law series, Earthly Shadows, was a much quicker read than the previous two books. If anything, I feel this book finished things up too quickly, and the ending could have been more fleshed out. This feels like the end of the journey, but I expected more because of the road to get here. But should Fox want to revisit this world, there are many directions and scenarios that could be explored. Characters could have their own books before Laney is involved or some years down the road. Overall, this is an enjoyable read.

About the Book:
Still reeling from a devastating loss and bitter betrayal, Delaney Murphy is focused on one simple thing – revenge. And to get what she wants, she might just unleash an unchecked darkness upon the world.
With her humanity fading and the infernal part of her growing stronger by the day, Laney will travel Below to hunt down the one who hurt those she loves and end his bid to steal her birthright.
What she finds when she gets there will change everything, because there are worse things than demons waiting for her, and her enemy is using the most potent magic of all to fuel his onslaught – souls. A final choice will decide the fate of everyone, Above and Below.
Can Delaney deliver the fatal blow when she needs to? Or will she fail those who matter the most in the end?
Nice review Rae, too bad it was such an abrupt ending
