Wow, just wow! Alliance was a book that I was really excited for, and then it went missing in my TBR. I wish I had read this sooner because Silverlock had me hooked from the first page.
Kanruo is on the run. He needs to hide because he’s the last of his kind. When he stumbles across a group intent on taking the Union down, he’s not sure what to make of them. He just wants to survive, and this might not be the safest place. But the more time he spends with them, the more he realizes how much he’s missed out on in his life. This story is as much about friendships as it is about the oppression and the state of the world centuries in the future.
With in-depth, inclusive characters, this book gives every reader someone to cheer for. Even Lyla, who sometimes drove me nuts with her impulsivity, is well-written. I loved Lorccán’s interactions with Kanruo. They work well together. With a fun dystopian premise, this book is part action, thriller, and a touch of romance—so many genres for a book that draws you in from the first page. Very well done!
