Alliance, Feyra Silverlock

4 people stand together, two males and two females. Some are holding guns, others equipment. In the background are purple and blue neon lights, I think it's the authors view of the future.

Wow, just wow! Alliance was a book that I was really excited for, and then it went missing in my TBR. I wish I had read this sooner because Silverlock had me hooked from the first page.

Kanruo is on the run. He needs to hide because he’s the last of his kind. When he stumbles across a group intent on taking the Union down, he’s not sure what to make of them. He just wants to survive, and this might not be the safest place. But the more time he spends with them, the more he realizes how much he’s missed out on in his life. This story is as much about friendships as it is about the oppression and the state of the world centuries in the future.

With in-depth, inclusive characters, this book gives every reader someone to cheer for. Even Lyla, who sometimes drove me nuts with her impulsivity, is well-written. I loved Lorccán’s interactions with Kanruo. They work well together. With a fun dystopian premise, this book is part action, thriller, and a touch of romance—so many genres for a book that draws you in from the first page. Very well done!

About the Book

Steal. Hack. Never sleep. Repeat.

Amidst the layers of Atlanta’s decay the seeds of rebellion have taken root in the form of an Organization.

Led by a peculiar cyborg, named Lorccán, the rag-tag group works tirelessly to undermine the Union’s authoritarian rule. But their plans are thrown off by a most peculiar break-in at their headquarters.

Stuck with a melted security server and now in custody of a traumatized witch, Lorccán must decide their next course of action and confront his past before the Void swallows them whole.

Alliance is a labor of chaotic adoration that explores the consequences of corporatocracies, the long journey of abuse recovery, the joys of found family and rebellion against an unjust system within a futuristic dystopian backdrop.

It is the second in a series of novels that will bring together a diverse cast to rally against the coming darkness.
